Solange T. Mailhot
1919 – 2010
LEWISTON – Solange T. Mailhot, 90, a life-long resident of Lewiston, died Sunday, Jan. 3, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion.
She was born in Lewiston on May 28, 1919, a daughter of the late Wilfrid and Suzanne (Doucette) Mailhot. She was educated at St. Joseph’s school.
She worked for 25 years at Cushman Shoe and 33 years at Knapp Shoe, retiring at the age of 80. She was a life-long member of Saints Peter and Paul’s Parish. She was also a member of Raquetteurs International Snowshoers, Le Pass-Temps, Inc., the Franco-American War Veterans Ladies Aux., Covenant 50 and Horizon 55.
She enjoyed Snowshoeing, spending time at her camp on Sabattus Lake and playing cards.
She leaves a sister, Yvette Mailhot; her caregivers, Deacon Denis Mailhot; and other nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three sisters, Alexina, Blanche, and Marianne; and five brothers, Willie, Albert, Wilfrid Jr., Fernand and Donat.
