AUBURN — Mechanics Savings Bank announces that John Kannegieser recently retired from its board of directors after more than 20 years of service.
From 1989 to 1999, he served as president and chief executive officer. From 1999 to 2009, he was a member of the board of directors, most recently serving as chairman. In honor of his work on behalf of Mechanics Savings Bank, the board voted to name Kannegieser a director emeritus.
Kannegieser is a past director, president and CEO of KeyBank of
Central Maine (formerly Depositors Trust Company). He is a former
member of the board of directors at Advocates for Children and the
Norlands Living History Center. He was also a founding board member of
the Maine Music Society and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Maine Auburn/Lewiston. He graduated from Harvard College in 1957. He
lives in Winthrop and Bar Harbor and has three children and four grandchildren.
Rick Vail, president and CEO of Mechanic Savings Bank, also announces that the board of directors has elected Jon Oxman as chairman of the board and Carol Rea as vice chairman.
