Autumn Koch, 14, helps her sister, Katelynn Koch, 2, with one of the many children’s books available at Ludden Memorial Library in Dixfield, while sisters Sarah-Jane Koch, 6, and Emma Koch, 4, tackle their own books. All four are seated on a new child-sized couch recently donated to the children’s room of the library by friends and family of longtime Dixfield resident Eve Kidder. When Kidder died last fall, friends were asked to make a donation to the library in lieu of flowers, librarian Peggy Malley. Kidder said had been a library volunteer for many years.
