BUCKFIELD — A Sumner woman was transported to Central Maine Medical Center following a Sunday night head-on collision on Route 117 in Buckfield.

Kayla Belanger, 18, was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after her northbound 1999 Ford pickup was struck head-on by a southbound 1999 Mitsubishi two-door driven by Casey Pulle, 26, of Buckfield, according to Trooper Ronald Turnick with the Maine State Police. Turnick said that Pulle crossed the center line due to icy road conditions and struck Belanger.

Turnick said that both cars sustained heavy damage and were considered total losses. He said that Route 117 was closed for a brief time.
