MEXICO — The past weekend’s snowstorm resulted in three vehicular accidents causing extensive property damage but no serious injuries.

Mexico Sgt. Roy Hodsdon said the flurry began at 9:06 a.m. when Big Daddy’s Cash Wash owner, Daniel Frazel, drove his pickup truck into the Main Street business lot. Because of snowy conditions, the Ford pickup slid into the garage door then through the back of the building, causing $3,500 damage to the structure. The truck also received about $1,000 damage. The Mexico Fire Department was called out to inspect the damaged building to ensure that it was structurally sound.

Frazel drove himself to Rumford Hospital where he was treated and released for minor injuries.

An hour later, Lawrence H. Skillin, 46, of Weld Street, Dixfield, slid off Route 2 as he was driving his 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck west along the highway. The truck came to rest in a ditch. It sustained $2,500 damage.

During the afternoon, around 4 p.m., Elaine Hutchinson, no age available, Carthage Road, Carthage, was driving her vehicle, make unknown, east along the River Road near the Big Apple when the car hit a slick spot, spun around and came to rest in a snowbank. The vehicle sustained about $800 damage.

In other police news:

A Kimball Avenue resident reported at 2:10 a.m., Jan. 3, that someone had stolen her cell phone valued at $200 from the back of a taxi. Charges are pending against two female suspects. The cell phone was recovered.

The manager of Generations, a fitness gym located in the Mexico Recreation Center, reported at 12:40 p.m., Dec. 31, that someone had taken an undisclosed amount of cash from her purse while she was working with clients. Police have a suspect.
