Training for women

LEWISTON — Women, Work and Community will offer a free “Creating Your
Future” training from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays,
Jan. 26 through March 16, at the USM Lewiston/Auburn College,
LearningWorks.

Participants will explore their values and
interests, identify their transferable skills, look at ways their jobs
affect personal finances and find out what new skills, education or
training is needed to fulfill a life plan.

MS support

LEWISTON — The MS Support Group and Caregivers will meet at 6 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 13, at the Lepage Conference Center, 99 Campus Ave. Since the last meeting was cancelled, the group will have a Christmas party, with a potluck
supper and a Chinese auction ($5 to $10 gift) for those who want to

Make jewelry

LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing at
Central Maine Medical Center will offer a free jewelry-making workshop
where cancer patients, survivors and caregivers will create a beaded
awareness bracelet. The workshop will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 12 High Street, Conference Room I, on the CMMC campus.

Bead Retreat Ltd. independent coordinator PJ Mottram will teach
participants basic design, stringing, crimping, clasps and finishing.
The finished project will feature multicolored or clear Swarovski
crystals with pearls and pewter embellishments and an awareness ribbon
charm.

Space is limited to 15 participants and preregistration is required.
