LEWISTON — Winter ducks will be the center of interest for participants in the field trip sponsored by the Stanton Bird Club on Saturday, Jan. 16. Reid State Park in Georgetown will be the destination.
The group will carpool from the Promenade Mall parking lot in front of Staples, leaving at 8 a.m. and returning around noon.
The birds the group has seen on past trips include wintering ducks such as loons, eiders, mergansers, buffleheads and long-tailed ducks.
Stanton field trips are free and nonmembers are invited. All experience levels are welcome. For more information, contact trip leader Linda Seamans at 240-1380.
The next Stanton field trip will be the “Leaders Choice” trip on Saturday, Feb. 13. The destination will be determined by the “hot spot” sightings of the week. For more information, contact trip leader Dan Marquis at 784-8397.
