Robert J. Rodrigue
1938 – 2010
AUBURN — Robert J. Rodrigue, 71, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
He was born in Rumford, June 26, 1938, the son of the late Leo E. and Laura Touchette Rodrigue. He was married to Ivis Clay, who predeceased him. Prior to his retirement, he was employed in the maintenance department at Philips-Elmet Corporation.
He was an avid poker player who had many friends. He also enjoyed doing projects around the house, gardening, hunting and fishing. He was very proud of getting his first moose hunting permit this past fall and ended the season successfully, getting his first moose. Most of all, he enjoyed being with his family.
He is survived by a son, Leo E. Rodrigue and his wife, Veronica, of Auburn; two daughters, Sharon Richard and Ann Richard, both of Auburn; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Theresa Champagne of Lewiston and Anita Heckbert and husband, Charles, of Jay; two brothers, Raymond Roderick of Kent, Conn., and Normand Rodrigue and wife, Moutan, of South Portland.
He was predeceased by his wife; and a son, Ernest Richard.
