Steve M. Robbins
1956 – 2009
RAMSEUR, N.C. — Steve M Robbins, 53, of Ramseur, N.C., passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Dec. 22.
Steve was born in Farmington, July 29, 1956, the son of the late Alfred and Stella (French) Robbins. He lived in the Farmington/Phillips area for most of his life, where he had several trades: working in the woods with his uncle, Stanley Robbins with Stanley’s horses, King and Queen, also in the woods with Sonny Abbott, Forester Manufacturing in Strong, the town of Farmington Highway Department and E.J Construction in Farmington.
In 2000, he moved to Theresa, N.Y., where he worked for Young’s Trucking. In 2007, he moved to Ramseur, N.C., working for Piedmont Furniture. No matter where he worked or played, he was loved by many, everyone will remember Steve Robbins.
He leaves behind his wife, Lorrain Nelson Robbins of Ramseur, N.C.; his adoring sons, Steve M. Robbins II of Kingfield and Ryan Robbins of Ramseur, N.C.; his granddaughter, Lexy Robbins of Phillips; a stepdaughter, Rosa Rodriguez of Ramseur, N.C.; his sisters, Patricia L. Hutchinson of Industry, Roberta Doyle and her husband, George, of Dracut, Mass., and Carol Maxwell and her husband, Allen, of Mansville, N.Y.; his brothers, Leslie Robbins Sr. of Farmington, Gene Robbins and his wife, Sharyn, of Norton, Mass., Peter Robbins of Topsham and Roger Robbins and his wife, Bette, of New Sharon; several nieces and nephews; and yes, also great-nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Donald and Calvin Robbins; and his sister, Janice.
He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
“God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around you and whispered “COME TO ME.” Although, we loved you greatly we couldn’t make you stay. A GOLDEN HEART has stopped beating, hard working hands are finally at rest. God has broken our hearts to prove that he only takes the best!” You will be forever in our hearts.
