Issue: After opening two bids for insulating the Town Office, councilors postponed action until their Jan. 19 meeting in order to get more information from bidders.
Issue: The council has received several requests for additional streetlights to be installed on Capital Avenue, Little Field Road and King Road.
Scoop: No action was taken due to a scheduled workshop meeting on Jan. 26, when street-lighting and a lighting ordinance will be discussed.
Appointments: Registrar of Voters, Twila Lycette; voter registration board, Lisa Ward; ethics panel chairman, David Bowie; ethics panel member, Ross Cunningham.
Scoop: Following the regular meeting, councilors held a workshop to discuss proposed charter amendments and changes.
Up next: Saturday, weather permitting, there will be a town facilities tour workshop of the fire stations, Public Works, Waste Water Treatment Plant, police department, libraries, MTM community center and Beaver Park. The respective department heads will be present at each facility. Those attending the tour are to meet at 8 a.m. at the Town Office.
Up next: A workshop with Town Office department heads will be held within the next month to help prepare for the upcoming budget process for fiscal year 2010-11.
