TURNER — A State Fire Marshal’s Office investigator spent part of Thursday investigating the source of a fire that leveled a home on Clover Lane the day before.
By the end of the day, it remained unknown what caused the blaze that destroyed Ryan Birmingham’s 2½-story home at 42 Clover Lane.
Fire officials said Birmingham was in Florida with his children when his house caught fire at about 7 a.m.
Fire investigator Dan Young said Birmingham returned to Maine on Thursday. The investigator interviewed Birmingham, his neighbors and other potential witnesses as the investigation progressed.
The house was reduced to rubble in the fire.
“There wasn’t a lot left to look at,” Young said.
