My gripe is people who go to the Turner Recycling Station with their pick-ups piled high with unsecured bags and boxes of trash, going down the road, losing bags (littering) here and there. These litterers don’t stop or go back to pick up their trash. The bags break open, strewing more litter, or sit roadside until some good Samaritan hauls them off. Can’t these people throw a rope or a tarp over their load so it won’t be all over the roads? Don’t people care how their streets look? Shame!

— Sheila Richardson, Harlow Hill Road, Turner

How about equal rights for people who like colored Christmas lights? Many years ago colored lights were strung across Lisbon Street from one side of the street to the other from Main Street to Chestnut and possibly to Cedar Street. It looked like an overhead carpet of colored lights. At the least, change the light bulbs in the wires that are placed in the trees to colored bulbs. Enough already with white or light green lights. White is boring. Hope to see the colored lights next year.
