LEWISTON — After almost 10 years of service, Jackie Hack has retired from Support Solutions, 124 Canal St.

She worked there as a direct support professional, assisting people with a developmental disability to lead a self-directed life while contributing to the community and encourage attitudes and behaviors that enhance community inclusion. Direct support professionals also act as an advocate for the disabled individual, in communicating their needs, self expression and goals. She had been a longtime employee in the health services field. Her dedication to Special Olympics allowed many people to be involved who would otherwise not have been able to attend.

Hack is a resident of Greene and is married with two children.
