LEWISTON — A new alternative is open for those seeking counseling in the Lewiston-Auburn area: Jordan’s Bridge Christian Counseling. The counseling center is a ministry of Free Grace Presbyterian Church, a new church currently meeting every other Sunday evening above Espo’s Trattoria, 134 Main St., Lewiston.

Ken Morris, director of counseling for Jordan’s Bridge, is a licensed clinical professional counselor. He and his wife recently moved here from St. Louis, Mo., to help plant the new church and begin a counseling ministry.

Morris trained in counseling and theology from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, the Presbyterian Church in America’s primary seminary. He holds master’s degrees in both counseling and general theological studies. Though originally from California, when he graduated from seminary he elected to remain in St. Louis rather than return home. He worked as a licensed professional counselor for several years before accepting a call to ministry in Maine.

Morris is accepting new clients and will soon be an Aetna and Anthem service provider.
