LEWISTON — Funeral services were held Wednesday for Guy E. Gagne at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Sabattus, after prayers at the Albert & Burpee Funeral Home. Officiating was the Rev. Robert Parent. The readings were done by Julie Cardwell and Monique Ouellette, and the intercessions were read by Ray Dulac. The offertory gifts were brought down the aisle by Guy’s godchildren, Marco Gagne and Wanda Gayton, and a eulogy was given by Julie and Sonny Cardwell. Pallbearers were Claude Hamann, Mike Gervais, Andy Gervais, Jonah Chasse, Andre Marquis and Roger Chasse, all grandchildren, and an ex son-in-law of the deceased. Father Parent also recited prayers of committal at St. Peter’s Cemetery, and an honor guard from the U.S. Marine Corps played “taps,” and folded and presented an American flag to the widow. After the service, family and friends gathered in the church hall of Our Lady of the Rosary in order to continue the celebration of Guy’s life with food and fellowship.
