LEWISTON — HealthSteps, part of the prevention and wellness services offered through St. Mary’s Health System, offers a wide range of classes with the core membership fee as well as a variety of specialty classes.

The newest offering is “Mommy and Me Yoga.” An introductory workshop will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, in the Lepage Large Conference Room, 99 Campus Ave. The cost is $20.

The workshop is designed for mothers and their infant children, ages eight weeks to almost walking.
The workshop will offer moms a way to reconnect with and strengthen their body after it has healed from delivery, and will offer an opportunity for moms to bond, breathe and stretch with their babies.

In the workshop, mothers will have a chance to connect with other mothers while learning a few yoga tools to help support post-partum recovery. The workshop will also visit gentle hands-on yoga and massage for babies, as well as postures to help mother and baby continue the bonding process.

Preregistration is required. Participants are asked to bring a yoga mat.
