Social programs reward needs and punish ability, but they have assured the politicians lucrative jobs while bankrupting the nation as a whole.

All social programs, including welfare, Social Security and Medicare, are called “redistribution of wealth,” but are in reality theft.

I believe in helping others who have needs, but I absolutely believe that the decision to help or not is one that every individual should be able to make for themselves. Anyone wanting help should have to turn to people around them (family, friends and neighbors). Those people are in the best position to evaluate if help is needed and deserved — and the type of assistance indicated (money, a helping hand or other support).

I think we all need to earn the right and the means to have medical care, a place to live or food on the table.

While many people may deserve help, nobody deserves money more than the person who worked to earn the wages. Then that person can decide if they want to share.

An expression comes to mind:  “Do unto others …” That saying means little when the government not only allows others to steal from you, but also forces you to comply.

If any health care reform bill gets passed by Congress, it will be one more large nail in this nation’s coffin.
