Accident

Jan. 14 at 8 p.m. —  Sandra Scott, 59, of Rumford, was driving a 1996 Buick on Waldo Street when she crossed Lincoln Avenue into the path of a 2002 Ford driven by Sarah Gardiner, 19, of Mexico. Damage to the Buick was estimated at $4,000; to the Ford, $2,000.

Julia Stambolis, 19, of Andover, wasn’t injured when she lost control of her 1998 Oldsmobile at 11:47 a.m Tuesday while driving south on Route 5 in Rumford, Maine State Police Trooper Kyle Tilsley said on scene. “She had one heck of a ride,” Tilsley said.
The car spun 360 degrees at least once — possibly more — before sliding backward into trees, he said. Damage was estimated at  $3,000.
