As truly intelligent people know, none of America’s media providers are fair and balanced. Readers, viewers and listeners enjoy hearing their beliefs being presented as “truth” and support the media source.
My concern is when these “truths” are hypocritically turned around when the need arises, i.e., when the liberal media tried to justify Bill Clinton’s actions as president while blasting conservative politicians who committed the same acts. Hypocrites.
Now, the same people who forced the concept that “not supporting the president is an act of treason” and “whenever you criticize the president you help the terrorists” down our throats for eight years are continually demeaning President Obama. Apparently, criticizing the president is now patriotic and does not help the terrorists at all. Hypocrites.
Fortunately, hypocrites have a logical rationale for their actions: “They did it first.” The third-graders I teach say the same thing all the time.
How sad, given the short time we have on Earth, that our energies are spent demeaning each other rather than trying to accomplish something together. All your hypocritical beliefs mean nothing when you’re dead, and only show your ignorance when you’re alive. So many people waiting for the newspaper, radio and television to tell them what they think and feel.
How about, instead of wasting time arguing who’s right, we spend time fixing what’s wrong?
I try to be an independent. Some people say it’s because I’m afraid to commit to either political party’s rhetoric. Yup, that’s it for sure.
