Carl E. Hall Sr.
1930 – 2010
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Carl Everett Hall, 79, of Sevierville Tenn., and formerly of Maine, died peacefully in a Knoxville, Tenn., hospital on Tuesday, Jan. 19, with his wife and youngest son by his side.
He was born in Gorham, N.H., Oct. 23, 1930, to Theodore Edward Hall and Evie Lucy O’Hara.
The family moved to Poland when he was a child. He later graduated from Edward Little High School and Auburn School of Commerce, both in Auburn.
After several years of wanderlust, which included a move to Connecticut, and a stint stationed in Germany with The National Guard, he married Doris Kier in 1958 and settled in Livermore Falls. It was there that he began a long career with IP and raised five sons. In 1970, he married Nohemi Garcia, with whom he had another son.
He worked very hard his whole life to provide for his family, often having a second job or owning a small business that his wife and children could help run, only officially retiring in his 70’s and moving to Tennessee.
Even in retirement, he insisted on having a job. He worker at the Golden Corral and a greeter at Walmart.
He will be sadly missed by his many friends and family.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Nohemi of Sevierville Tenn.; five sons, Carl Jr. and partner, David, of Yarmouth, Thomas and wife, Sue, of Auburn, Kenneth and wife, Dianne, of Auburn, Ronald and wife, Linda, of Tremont, Ill., and Kevin and wife, Sylvia, of Sevierville, Tenn.; a stepson, Hector Knapp of New Hampshire; three sisters, Gracie Stone of Auburn, Nancy Grier of Cape Elizabeth and Shirley Mosher of West Paris; one brother, Landon of North Carolina;
13 grandchildren, Kimberly, Krystle, Kaylee, Kellsey, Kyle, Spencer, Jordan, Cameron, Lila, Peter, Carl, Trevor and Helen; a special granddaughter, Felicia; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Theodore; and two sisters, Hazel Hall and Doris Stevens.
