AUBURN — Comedian Joey Carroll, who has performed worldwide on luxury cruise liners and on tours of U.S. military bases, will headline Fireside Comedy on Saturday, Jan. 23, at the Fireside Inn & Suites.
Also in the lineup are comedians Larry Lee Lewis and Ellen Moschetto.
Carroll has performed on “Comedy Central,” NESN’s “Roughin’ It,” Comcast Comedy Spotlight and XM Satellite Radio, but says his greatest career satisfaction comes from bringing laughter to the U.S. military. For nearly a decade, he has averaged two military tours a year, performing in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo and other war-torn areas.
“They do so much for us. It’s good to give something back to them,” he said. “They like to laugh, but the most important thing for them is to see someone from home.”
When home in Boston, Carroll performs his clean observational comedy around New England in theaters and clubs and at comedy night fundraisers.
Showtime is 8 p.m. Tickets are $14 at the door, $12 with a reservation. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. For reservations, call 777-1777. The Fireside Inn & Suites is at 1777 Washington St., off Maine Turnpike Exit 75.
