Mariette Boucher Klimek
1928 – 2010

SIMSBURY, Conn. — Mariette Boucher Klimek, 81, of Old Orchard Beach, formerly of Lewiston, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, in Simsbury, Conn., with her family at her side.

She was born on April 14, 1928, raised by her adoptive mother, Augustine Robichaud and graduated from Stephens High School, Rumford in 1947. On Sept. 19, 1970, she married Emil Klimek in Seabrook, N.H.

For most of her professional life, she worked in banking as a teller, general ledger bookkeeper and reconciler for banks such as Depositor’s Trust in Maine and the State National Bank of El Paso, Texas. Prior to retirement, she and Emil worked as resident managers for senior housing complexes in Palmyra, N.Y., and Danbury, Conn. She and her husband retired to Old Orchard Beach in 1992, where she worked part time in the store at the Powder Horn campground.

She was an avid bowler, an activity she enjoyed and excelled at well into retirement. She also enjoyed playing cards socially and staying in touch with her many friends, with the help of Hallmark.

Besides her devoted husband, Emil, she leaves her loving son, Dr. Edward A. Thibodeau and his wife, Dr. Gail M. Thibodeau, of Simsbury, Conn.; her cherished grandchildren, Bryan J. Thibodeau and his wife, Kate Navarra Thibodeau, of Issaquah, Wash., and Alyson M. Thibodeau of Tucson, Ariz. She will also be greatly missed by dear family friends, André L’Heureux, who was like a second son to her and his wife, Susan Strauss L’Heureux of Arlington, Va.
