WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sens. Olympia J. Snowe and Susan Collins have announced their nominees for the United States Military Academies.

The following area students have received nominations as candidates to the academies.

U.S. Military Academy at West Point: Patrick Brown of Lisbon, Maine School of Science and Math; Michael Johnson of South Paris, Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School; Evan Kenney of Gray, Gray-New Gloucester High School;
Nolan McKusick of Freeport, Freeport High School.

U.S. Air Force Academy:
Naomi McGonagill of Auburn, St. Dominic Regional High School

U.S. Naval Academy:
Alexandra Desjardin of Auburn, St. Dominic High School; Dakota Edmiston of Gray, Gray-New Gloucester High School;
Evan Kenney of Gray, Gray-New Gloucester High School.

U.S. Merchant Marine Academy:
Michael Johnson of South Paris, Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.
