Oak Hill 52, MCI 18

WALES – Maggie Sabine scored 16 of her 23 points in the first quarter as Oak Hill walked all over Maine Central Institute (3-11) with a 52-18 victory in a girls’ basketball game Saturday night.

The Raiders (7-7) held a 33-12 lead by halftime and held MCI to single-digit scoring for all four quarters. Sabine, who hit a pair of 3-pointers, was the only double-digit scorer of the game.

Jay 47, St. Dom’s 30

JAY – Senior forward Hillary Deane scored a team-high 14 points to lead Jay to a 47-30 triumph  over St. Dom’s in MVC girls’ basketball action Saturday.

The Tigers (10-4) picked up the tempo in the second half, engaging the afterburners from a 17-17 dead heat at the midpoint. Junior center Beth Moore contributed 10 points and hauled down nine rebounds for Jay.

Junior forward Allaina Murphy recorded a game-high 19 points on five field goals and eight free throws, including a 3-pointer, for the Saints (9-5) in the losing effort.

Rangeley 43, Pine Tree 18

FREEPORT – Sophomore forward Chantal Carrier posted 15 points to lezd Rangeley to a 43-18 victory over Pine Tree Academy in girls’ basketball action Saturday.

The Lakers (9-5) had to power down their turbines following a 23-2 run in the first quarter. Carrier made 13 of her 15 points in the frame.

Both teams played relatively even over the next three frames as the Lakers went 20-to-16 before the final buzzer. Junior point-guard Allie Hammond contributed 12 points for Rangeley.

Sandy Gentille and Annie Paige made three baskets apiece to combine for 12 of Pine Tree Academy’s (0-7) total of 18 points.

Gray-NG 42, Cape Elizabeth 35, OT

GRAY – Senior forward Laura Getchell made four field goals and six free throws to lead Gray-New Gloucester to a 42-35 overtime victory in WMC girls’ basketball action Saturday night.

The Patriots (9-5) turned a six-point deficit at the half, 21-15, into a one-point lead after three frames with a 12-0 run in the third quarter. Senior Kassie Wilson contributed a shared team-high 14 points for Gray-New Gloucester.

The Patriots went 8-of-10 from the line in overtime, and outscored the Capers (7-7) by a 10-3 margin to secure the win.

Senior forward Morgan Pillsbury recorded a team-high 14 points for Cape Elizabeth.

Fryeburg 37, Poland 18

POLAND – Ariel McConkey led all players with 12 points and Brylie Walker added 11 as Fryeburg topped Poland 37-18 in girls’ basketball action Saturday.

The Raiders (5-8) held the Knights (1-13) to less than 20 percent from the field and capitalized on Poland’s miscues to build a 25-11 halftime lead.

Morgan Copp led the way for Poland with eight points, while Sara Sands scored four points and added five rebounds and five steals.
