LEWISTON — “Pixels: Parts of a Whole,” the newest exhibition at L/A Arts’ Gallery 5, focuses on elements of images with a variety of interpretations by local artists. On display will be original artwork ranging from Pam Bell’s close-up floral photography to Graham Wood’s small-scale wooden installations.
“Some of the work is, in fact, digital in nature, while other pieces are representations of the concept in another form, suggesting a small piece of something greater,” said curator Jeanelle Demers.
Artists displaying their works are Len Bartel, Pam Bell, Cynthia Cannone, Robert Gibson, Mik Morrisey, Daryl-Ann Leonard, Jim Nickelson, George Paton, Michael Peitersen, Tom Reichard, Jennifer Wadsworth, Graham Wood and Michael E. Woodward.
The opening reception for “Pixels” will be held Friday, Jan. 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the gallery at 49 Lisbon St. Many artists will be in attendance. Admission is free. Light refreshments will be served.
Cannone will give an artist talk from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10. Painter Robert Gibson will do the same on Wednesday, March 10. Artist talks are free, with reservations encouraged. Call L/A Arts at 782-7228.
“Pixels” may be viewed from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturdays; from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday; and by appointment.
The exhibit will run through March 29.
