SABATTUS — Oak Hill High School’s drama club, Theatre in the Woods, will present two award-winning, one-act plays on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 6-7.

“The Valiant,” by Holworthy Hall and Robert Middlemass, tells the story of James Dyke, a confessed murderer who has been sentenced to die and now awaits his fate on death row. The only problem is no one knows who he really is, or where he comes from; and he is determined to take his secret to the grave.

The other featured one-act is “Wings,” by Linda J. Barnes, which considers the serious conflict of dreams and reality in a light modern way. Through a series of vignettes, the viewer sees the familiar, limiting faces of people and institutions seeking to blot out the beautiful dreams of youth.

One of plays will be chosen by a panel of three adjudicators, all with backgrounds and training in the performing arts, for Oak Hill High School to bring to the regional one-act festival in March.

Performances will be at 7 p.m. Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $6 for general admission, $5 for students and seniors. They will be sold at the door. For more information, contact director Lucy Rioux at 582-5717 or assistant director Helen Sherman at 375-4950.
