Free throw contest
LEWISTON — The Holy Cross Knights of Columbus Council 12,652 will sponsor a basketball free throw competition from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at the Trinity Catholic School Junior High Gym, 393 Main St. Doors will open at 8 a.m. for registration.

Winter fun
LISBON — Beaver Park will offer a free day of cross-country skiing and snowshoeing on Saturday, Feb. 6. The Lone Pine Lodge will be open
from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with heat from the wood stove and warm
drinks available.
The cross-country ski trails are groomed for
traditional skiing. People snowshoeing are asked not to walk on the
groomed section of the ski trail. The trails are wide enough to
accommodate both skiers and snowshoers. Dogs are welcome on the park road only and not on the groomed
trails.

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Bridge Club
winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Jan. 26 were as follows: first,
Jan Arey and Linda Leotsakos; second, Sherry Hinckley and Luke Merry;
third, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe; first in B, Larry Fortier and
Roger Labbe; second, Lue Bilodeau and Sue Kaluzynski.
Winners at Schooner Estates on Jan. 27 were: first, Anna
Vitiello and Rosemarie Goodwin; second, Sherry Hinckley and David Lock;
third, Jean and Phil Bird.
Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays and at 6:30 p.m.
