MEXICO — The Mexico Public Library will host a “Hearts & Art!” open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10. The public is invited and encouraged to stop by the library at 134 Main St. to view some art and take a look at the library’s new furnishings.
The art will feature local artist Betsy Bell’s work, which is currently on loan at the library. The exhibit will feature Bell’s “Swift River Treasures: Original Naturalist Works.” This is the first time that the work is being shown in the River Valley area. Bell is a member of the Pennacook Art Center.
The library’s new furnishings are the result of a grant from the Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation. They, along with Bell’s art, have enhanced the library’s physical appearance.
The library will also offer some Valentine cheer during the open house, in the form of gifts and refreshments. Everyone attending the event will be given a free ticket when they arrive. At the conclusion of the event, three winning tickets will be drawn for the following door prizes: a Valentine gift basket, an art print by Betsy Bell and a restaurant gift certificate.
Attendees need not be present when the winning tickets are drawn. Door prizes will be on display at the library the week prior to the event, but tickets will be given out only to those who attend the open house.
The snow date for the event will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11.
