Title: Local Rep. Terry Hayes Visits Boxberry Elementary School

Oxford, ME (January 29, 2010) —

Recently Rep. Terry Hayes visited Boxberry students to help them learn more about the state of Maine’s local government. She gave us the “State of Maine 124th Legislature” 2009 Senate and House Registers and Roster with photos as keepsakes. In these she pointed out some of our local representatives and talked about the three branches of government. She also helped prepare us for our future trip to Augusta, where all our students will serve as pages for the House of Representatives, tour the State House, meet Governor Baldacci, and view the Maine State Museum. Boxberry students excitedly asked questions about how laws are made and the history of Maine’s government.
