FARMINGTON — A variety of berry plants, fruit trees, herbs and other edibles are being offered this year by the Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District, along with an array of flowering shrubs, perennials, erosion control plants and conifers.

Early bird orders are due by Monday, March 1, and must arrive with payment to have the items reserved.

Plants being offered this year include: apple, pear, plum and peach trees; high bush blueberries, raspberries and blackberries; asparagus, wild ginger, lemon grass, English lavender, bee balm and herbs; spirea, daphne, potentilla, weigela; 19 different lilacs; azaleas and rhododendrons; coneflowers, astilbe, primrose, spiderwort, painted daisies, bleeding hearts, blanket flowers and false sunflowers; high bush and ground cranberries, winterberry holly and red osier dogwood; as well as firs, pines, spruce and hemlock.

Pick up is scheduled from 12:30 to 5 p.m. Friday, May 7 and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 8, at the barn next to the District Courthouse. Rain barrels and compost bins will be available for pick up at the same time.
