PERU — Friends on a Mission youth group will sponsor a Valentine’s banquet at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at the United Baptist Church, Main Street.

The entree will include pasta with a choice of sauce, salad and homemade bread. Dinner will be followed by a choice of desserts ranging from homemade pies to cakes, tortes and cheesecake. Attendees will dine by candlelight while listening to the music of Alan Hutchinson on the keyboard.

Reservations are not necessary, but helpful. To reserve a table, call Cathy Hazelton, youth group leader, at 562-8278.

All proceeds will benefit World Visions 30-Hour Famine, a project to raise money for the world’s hungry. For every $30 collected, a child can be fed for a month. The 30-Hour Famine has become an annual project for Friends on a Mission.

Last year, the youth group raised more than $3,200.
