Glendon Norman Sturtevant
1939 – 2010
AUGUSTA — Glendon N. Sturtevant, 70, of Pleasant Hill Road, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 2, at his residence.
He was born on Aug. 15,1939, in Lewiston, the son of Frank G. Sturtevant and Beatrice L. (Hall) Sturtevant. Glen graduated from Edward Little High in 1958. He went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Air Force, where he loved to fly.
After the service, he worked several years in banking before entering the Maine State Police in 1968, where he served 28 years mostly in the motor vehicle inspection program, retiring in 1996. After retirement, he worked as a driver for several years at Charlie’s Auto Mall in Augusta, where he made many good friends.
He was a member of Tranquil Masonic Lodge 29 of Auburn.
He is survived by a son, Andrew Sturtevant and his wife, Angela, of Saco; brother, Gleason Sturtevant and his wife, Pam, of Florida; his companion of 18 years, Susan Weed of Augusta; an uncle and cousins.
