Blanche P. Gordon
1923 – 2010
AUBURN — Blanche P. Gordon, 86, a resident of 81 Moody St., Lisbon died Wednesday, Feb. 3, at the Hospice House with her family by her side after a short illness.
She was born in Lewiston, June 16, 1923, the daughter of James and Annie (Lansbury) Powers.
She was employed for 23 years at the former Holiday Inn in Auburn until her retirement in 1988. After retirement, she enjoyed going out to eat, and was very proud of her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, James Dowling and his wife, Jackie, of Auburn and William Dowling of Tennessee; two daughters,Carol Buteau of Auburn and Maureen Williams and her husband, James, of Lisbon; one stepdaughter, Phyllis Bray of Turner; one sister, Annebelle Bolduc of Snowhomish, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Maurice; her brother, James Powers; and her brother-in-law, Roland Bolduc.
The family would like to thank the ICCU staff at Central Maine Medical Center, and special thanks to Kim and Chrissy on M4 and Tammy and Pat at the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for all their care and support in mom’s last hours.
