BRIDGTON — The Bridgton Rotary Club recently welcomed to their meeting Josh Rice, military police of the United States Army, 4th Combat Brigade, Paratrooper of the 82nd Airborne. Rice is stationed in Kandahar, Afghanistan. He is 20 years old and the son of Molly Brand who lives in Denmark and works in Bridgton.
According to Brand, Rice had a dream to be in the Army since he was 5 years old. He had considered making the Army a career and also considering a career as a criminal justice police officer.
The Rotary Club has a donation box for Rice and his troops. Rice said they are in need of baby wipes, “on the go” style juice packets and snacks, black socks (no wool), and personal items such as toothpaste and toothbrushes. Those wishing to donate can bring items to the boxes located at the Mountain Mini Storage Office, 408 Harrison Road and at the Lake
Region High School.
