1924 – 2010
LEWISTON — Fernande Q. Dionne, 85, of 102 Campus Ave., Lewiston, and formerly of 282 Lisbon St., Lewiston, died Thursday Feb. 4 at d’Youville Pavilion following a long illness.
She was born in Waterville Aug. 3, 1924, the daughter of Edouard and Emerilda (Lachance) Quirion and had been a resident of this community since 1936.
She was married to Armand Dionne; he died on May 1, 1981. She was employed at the Bates Mill for many years until her retirement.
She was a member of the L & A Working Men’s Club, Hurricane Club, Midtown Athletic Club, The Pastime Club, American Legion Auxiliary Post 22 of Lewiston and a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church. She enjoyed playing bingo.
She is survived by one daughter, Dolores (LeBlanc) Couturier and her husband, Louis, of Sabattus; six grandchildren, Linda Camire, and her husband, Randy, of Hebron, Louise Hamner of Lisbon Falls, Jean Paul Couturier and his wife, Debbie, of Merritt Island, Fl.; Carol LeBlanc of Lewiston, Edward Couturier of Lady Lake, Fl. and Shirley Dixon of Dundee, Fl.; 10 great grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Clemence Gervais, and her husband, Normand, of Lewiston and Abbot Village; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband; a sister, Rosalda Madore; a son, Fernand LeBlanc; and a grandson, Donald Couturier.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Morrissette, D’Youville Pavilion and Sarah Frye Home for the great care and service they have provided to Fernande.
