LEWISTON — Registration is open for current YWCA members for the spring season of swim lessons at the YWCA of Central Maine. Registration for the general public will begin on Monday, Feb. 15.
Those who sign up on Feb. 9, 15 or 16 will receive family swim passes valued at $100. Classes are available for all abilities starting at age 6 months to adult. Classes will begin on Feb. 22 and finish April 12. Classes are offered Monday through Thursday and on Saturdays. For a complete schedule of classes, visit www.YWCAMaine.org.
The cost of the session is $69 for eight weeks of half-hour classes or $90 for eight weeks of one-hour classes. Introduction to Competitive Swimming classes are $55 for members and $75 for nonmembers. Participants in all swim classes, except for Introduction to Competitive Swimming, must be members of the YWCA.
Membership to the YWCA is good for one year and includes free membership swims and other discounted program fees. YWCA membership fees are: child, up to age 12, $30; youth, 13 to 17, $35; adult, 18 to 59, $55; senior citizen, 60 and up, $45; family, $160, up to six members living in the same household with a maximum of two adults.
Private swim lessons are also available by appointment. The cost for private swim lessons is $25 each half-hour or $45 each hour session. Participants must be members of the YWCA. Private lessons are scheduled by appointment.
