Gerry W. Wright
1950 – 2010
VALRICO, Fla. — Gerry Wallace Wright, 59, passed away Feb. 5, among family at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital.
Originally of Sabattus, Gerry served our nation for more than 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army. During his military career, he was highly decorated, receiving countless recommendations, commendations and awards.
Upon retirement, he worked at the U.S. European Command, Patch Barracks in Stuttgart, Germany and moved to Valrico, Fla. in 1998. He was a Mason, Shriner, member of the American Legion; PVA; DAV; and VFW.
He is survived by his loving family, two daughters, Natasha Wright of Valrico, Fla., and Arrica Cooper, her husband, Robert and Gerry’s expected grandchild, Sydney Wright Cooper of Spring Hill, Fla.; his mother, Rowena Wright of Sabattus; a sister, Shelia Ortiz and her husband, Frank, of Elizabeth, N.J.; nephew, Joshua Ortiz; and niece, Jennifer Meza.
His loving father, Wallace Edward Wright, died Feb. 8.
