AUBURN — The Central Maine Community College Corporate and Community Services Department will offer Essentials of Project Management and Advanced Project Management beginning in March.
Essentials of Project Management will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays, March 10 and 17. The class fee is $255 and includes materials.
Advanced Project Management will run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays, March 31 to April 14. The cost is $379 and includes materials.
Individuals may sign up for both of these noncredit courses for $499.
The Essentials of Project Management will teach technical and nontechnical professionals how to plan, organize and complete projects on time and on budget. Participants will learn how to use a variety of project management methods and tools including problem solving, work breakdown structure, estimating and forecasting, project scheduling, Gantt charting and contingency planning.
In the advanced course, students will explore the methods of dealing with management, relationships, communication and control as they relate to project management. The advanced course combines descriptive text with discussions, analysis of cases and shared knowledge among the participants.
The program will be facilitated by Jim Milliken. Milliken holds a Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute and has more than 15 years of training experience in the areas of project management, supervision, team building and communication.
