CRAZY FOR CARDS AT NORWAY LIBRARY
During February’s school vacation week (February 15-19), elementary
school students are invited to come to the Norway Memorial Library to
play dozens of fun and fast-paced card games, from classics like Uno
and Go Fish to newer games like Set, Monopoly Deal and Scrabble Slam!
A special instruction session will be offered on Tuesday, Feb. 16,
from 2:00-3:30PM in the newly rearranged Children’s Room. Most of the
games are geared toward students 7 years old and up. Parents and other
caregivers are welcome to play as well.
The American Library Association has long recognized the value of
gaming – including computer games, board games, and card games – to
literacy improvement. Plus, playing games is a great way for families
to have fun together.
Throughout the week, card games will be set out in the Children’s Room
so that families can stop by and play anytime during daytime hours
(Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10:00-5:00; Thursday,
12:00-5:00).
Space on Feb. 16 is limited, so please call 743-5308 or sign up at the
Children’s Room desk.
