AUBURN — One of Boston’s all-time great comedians and one of its up-and-coming comics will share the stage at a Valentine’s Weekend comedy show at the Fireside Inn & Suites.
On Saturday, Feb. 13, Chance Langton, whose CD “I’m Better Than Them” is played regularly on XM and Sirius Satellite Radio, will be joined by Steve Scarfo, who tours with the all-New Hampshire comedy show “Live Free or Die Laughing.”
The show will be hosted by Kate Ghiloni of Portland.
Langton is a nationally known comedian, musician, actor and writer. Over the past 20 years, he has headlined at top comedy clubs across the country. In addition, he has appeared in concert with Rodney Dangerfield, Jay Leno, Eddie Murphy and other well-known acts. His numerous national television credits include appearances on ABC, NBC, Fox, Showtime, A&E, HBO On Demand and on such shows as “Comic Strip Live” and the documentary “When Standup Stood Out.”
He has also appeared in Adam Sandler’s films “Eight Crazy Nights,” “House Party 2” and “The Complex World.”
Scarfo’s high energy, real-life approach to material — coupled with his sometimes bizarre views — strikes a cord with audiences. Also, a busy character actor, he was featured in a Mastercard commercial based around the Boston Red Sox during their run to win the World Series in 2004. He also appeared in several movies such as the Farrelly Bros. movie “Fever Pitch,” and “Gone, Baby, Gone,” directed by Ben Affleck. He recently shot a pilot for a pseudo-reality TV show in Boston called “My Family Business.”
The Fireside Inn offers comedy every Saturday night with top headliners from around New England. Showtime is 8 p.m. Tickets are $14 at the door, $12 with a reservation. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. For reservations, call 777-1777. The Fireside Inn & Suites is at 1777 Washington St., at Exit 75 of the Maine Turnpike.
