FARMINGTON — A Community Supported Agriculture Fair will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, at the Fairbanks Neighborhood School at 508 Fairbanks Road.
Several area farms offer CSA shares, which entitles the customer to buy from a farm in advance a weekly or monthly basket of produce, flowers, fruits, eggs, milk, meats, or any farm product.
Admission to the fair is free for farms and the public. For location information or for farms interested in participating in the Farmington event, contact the Western Mountains Alliance at 207-778-3885, [email protected].
The Farmington fair is coordinated by the Western Mountains Alliance, The Fairbanks Neighborhood School Association and volunteers with sponsorship from Bangor Savings Bank and Franklin Savings Bank and Hannaford.
It is one of several statewide events co-sponsored by the Maine Organic Farmers & Gardeners Association and the Maine Council of Churches. For more information on Community Supported Agriculture fairs statewide, contact MOFGA organic marketing coordinator Melissa White Pillsbury, 207-568-4142, [email protected].
