MECHANIC FALLS — Bette G. Brewster, 55, of Lane Road, Mechanic Falls, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, at her home with her loving family at her side, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Lynn, Mass., Oct. 2, 1954, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Olive (Allen) Grant. She was educated in Massachusetts and graduated from Lynn English High in 1972.
She worked at John F. Murphy Homes as a certified nursing assistant from 1989 till her illness in 2004. She lived by her own words, “live, love, laugh” and those who knew her, know she followed those words everyday. She loved following her son Matt, whether he was playing basketball, baseball or fishing. She also loved spending time with family and friends and sitting around the table having a good laugh over a cup of coffee.
She leaves her husband of 30 years, Harry Brewster, and her son, Matthew, of Mechanic Falls; three brothers, James Grant and wife, Margaret, of Auburn, Kenneth Grant and wife, Patti, of Massachusetts, and Richard Grant and wife, Kathy, of Fairfield; nieces, Toni Mac Donald and husband, Sean, Reni Healy and husband, David, and Linda Allen and daughter, Sarah Cotnoir; nephews, John Burgess, James Grant and wife, Lori, Kenneth Grant and wife, Kym, Steven Grant, Michael Grant and J. Allen Grant; great-nieces, Katrina Burgess, Kayla and Taylor Grant; and great-nephews, James Grant, Rick, Rob and Ronnie Healy and Bronsyn Grant.
She was predeceased by a niece, Andrea Grant; a sister, Janet Doucette; and a brother-in-law, Henry Doucette.
