SOUTH PORTLAND — Lieutenant Edward Quinn of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office was awarded the Employee of the Year Award from the Maine Sheriffs Association at an awards banquet held during the Maine Sheriffs Association and the Maine Chiefs of Police
Association combined winter conference. The conference took place from Feb. 3 to 5 at the Wyndham
Hotel.

Sheriff Wayne J. Gallant said in the nomination letter that Quinn has been employed by the agency since 1981.

Quinn is in charge of the coordination and facilitation of all
corrections training requirements. He is also the administrator for the Spillman software program at the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office, the
Oxford County Regional Communication Center and six of the eight
municipal police departments in the county.

Gallant said that Quinn has worked diligently in saving the
Oxford County Sheriff’s Office and the taxpayers thousands of dollars in sound fiscal management decisions regarding their
budget needs for computer equipment and programs as well finding ways to
bring in top quality trainers for minimal or no costs to the department so they can
meet the training needs of their correctional staff.

Gallant said that Quinn is a valuable, motivated, unselfish and team-orientated
employee of the office.

Gallant awarded Quinn a plaque and read the nomination
letter. Others in attendance from the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office
were Chief Deputy Dane Tripp and his wife, Brenda; Captain Ernie Martin
and his wife, Judy; Lieutenant Hart Daley and his wife, Allison; and
Quinn’s wife, Sharie.
