JAY – Monmouth Middle School boys’ basketball won two of its three games at the JayJams tournament last weekend. Monmouth defeated Livermore Falls, 51-26, and Dirigo, 30-28, before droppinbg a 28-25 verdict to Dirigo.
Nick Tozier led Monmouth with 14 points against Livermore Falls. Marc Houston added nine points, and Alex Curtis chipped in five. Pratt Holt topped Livermore with 12 points. Sam Vigue contibuted six.
Brandon Gofff scored 14 points to help hand Dirigo its first loss of the season. Houston had eight points and Brett Wilson added four. Kurt Hutchins paced Dirigo with 10, followed by Dan Kidder with nine and Todd Frost with three.
Kidder collected eight points and Hutchins and Robert Robinson each added seven to give Dirigo its revenge. Houston led Monmouth (13-4) with 13. Tozier turned in eight.
