SOUTH PARIS — Students of the Month for February at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School are Brittina Maheux, freshman; Stephen Klein, sophomore; Tabatha Hawkins, junior; and Sorrel Dunn, senior. This is the 10th year of the Oxford Hills Rotary Club’s sponsorship of the program.
Each month, high school staff
members nominate students who they feel have “made a difference in their
classroom.”
The goal of the program is to reward teamwork, positive behavior, extra effort and good student citizenship. The program is coordinated through the Oxford Hills Community Education Exchange and is part of the character education curriculum at the high school.
The four students were praised for their leadership in the classroom, willingness to help their classmates and volunteer efforts in after-school clubs.
The students’ names and picture are placed on a plaque that hangs in the hallway across from the school library. The students had lunch with the principals and on Feb. 3 they were honored at a Rotary breakfast.
