FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Office of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension will offer a tractor and farm machinery safety course.

The series of classes is designed for young adults, ages 14 to 16 who want to earn a federal certificate so they can operate farm machinery as part of their employment on a farm, and for many adults and new farmers who want to learn how to drive tractors and operate farm implements safely.

Henry and Andrew Hardy from Farmington will be the class instructors.

The training will consist of three classroom sessions, to be held from
6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays, March 15, 22 and 29. The sessions will be in the Conference Room at the Franklin County Extension Office, 138 Pleasant St., Suite 1.

Two hands-on driving sessions will be held in April. The dates, times and location will be announced.

Preregistration for the training is required. Call the Extension Office at 778-4650 or 1-800-287-1478 or contact Henry Hardy at 778-6446.
