1929 – 2010

LEWISTON — Charlotte B. (Giguere) Demers, wife of the late Raymond Demers, passed away at her residence Feb. 11.

She was born June 13, 1929, at Valley Junction, Quebec, the daughter of Joseph and Jeanne (Dugal) Giguere. She was raised in the woods of Allagash. She was very proud to be included with her family in the book “Nine Mile Bridge,” which spoke of the hardships and joys of living in the Allagash.

Her favorite pastime was fishing, whether it was on streams or Sebago Lake, on the boat she and Raymond shared. She also loved to cook and will be remembered for her infectious laugh. She endured many hardships in this life, but always found a way to support and love her children. For all the sacrifices she endured, her family will be forever grateful.

She is survived by her son, Philippe Beaulieu of Watertown, Mass.; her two daughters, Jeanne (Beaulieu) Waning and her husband, Urban, of Auburn and Joanne (Beaulieu) Lavoie and her husband, James, of Old Town; her sister, Theresa Borawski and her husband, George; her brothers, Gabriel and his wife, Cecile, Guy and his wife, Jackie and Andy and his wife, Lucienne; she will be deeply missed by her cherished grandchildren, Tom, Adele, Adam and Mindy Beaulieu, Ryan, Kate and Chad Waning, Christopher and Joseph Lavoie, Michelle Fuller; and her great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Odin Beaulieu and Addison and Hannah Waning.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Patrick Beaulieu; her brothers, Paul and Marcel; and a sister, Rita.
