Hilda A. LaRochelle
1925 – 2010
AUBURN — Hilda A. (Reynolds) LaRochelle of Augusta, died peacefully on Feb. 13, at Clover Health Care, with family by her side.
She was born Sept. 30, 1925, in Burnham, one of 11 children of Joshua and Cara (Waymen) Reynolds. She graduated from Crosby High School, Class of 1942 in Belfast.
She was employed at the paper mill in Augusta, where she met the love of her life, Clarence LaRochelle. They were married Jan. 27, 1945 and shared 53 years together, until his passing in 1998.
She had been employed at Ethan and Allen in Burnham and also did home care nursing. She retired after 27 years of nursing at MaineGeneral in Augusta.
She had a gift for caring and loved to help others. In addition, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, doing puzzles, crossword puzzles, dancing and playing bingo.
She is survived by her daughter, Yvette LaRochelle and her husband, Richard Rioux, of Poland; her son, Leonel (Bucky) LaRochelle of Augusta; three grandchildren, Donnie, Lesa and Amy; two stepgrandchildren, Amanda and Travis; five great-grandchildren, William, Madelynn, Thomas, Joseph and Nicole; two sisters, Alice Nickerson of Florida, and Merita Sanborn of Pittsfield; a brother, Ralph (Sammy) Reynolds of Burnham; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by a son, Richard Anthony; her husband, Clarence; four brothers, Llewelyn, Archie, Joshua Jr. and Kenneth Arthur; and three sisters, Vivian, Hazel and Priscilla.
She will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends.
