LEWISTON — What was predicted to be a potential nor’easter turned out to be not much more than a dusting of snow Tuesday in the Twin Cities.
George Wiseman, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Gray, said areas south of Maine came close to the projected snowfall, but the storm dropped less than expected in the Pine Tree State. Wiseman said that weather models earlier in the week were predicting far more snow than what the region actually saw.
“Basically, it’s just a snowstorm that didn’t materialize,” Wiseman said Tuesday night. “Again, it’s a forecast, not a guarantee.”
