Claire Joyce Lacombe

1947 – 2010

LEWISTON — Claire Joyce Lacombe, 62, of Alec Street, Lewiston, passed away Monday, Feb. 15, at her home with her family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston, Aug. 23, 1947, the daughter of Thomas “Bill” Joyce and Helen Ferguson. She was educated in Lewiston schools, attended Bliss Business College in Lewiston, and obtained her teaching certificate from the University of Maine in Machias.

On Aug. 2, 1975, she married Paul Lacombe. She taught at Lewiston High School and the Lewiston Regional Technical Center for 35 years. She lived her life for her family, and enjoyed tending her flowers and rock garden, and especially enjoyed her granddaughter Gwendolyn, who was her pride and joy. She was a lifelong member of the former St. Patrick’s Church.

She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years and caregiver, Paul of Lewiston; a daughter, Kathleen Lacombe of Lewiston; two sons, Michael and wife, Jennifer, of Lewiston and Timothy of Lewiston; a brother, John Joyce and wife, Darlene, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two sisters, Mary and husband, Raymond Deschenes, of Lewiston and Margaret Joyce of Lewiston; and a granddaughter, Gwendolyn Lacombe of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by her parents.
